The girl group's stunning singer is said to have impressed producers with her forthright opinions and striking looks.
Execs on the hit Saturday night show believe she could be the perfect replacement for Cheryl Cole if she lands her coveted role as a judge on the US X Factor.
A show source said: "Frankie has all the right ingredients for an X Factor judge - she looks great, she can hold her own and she's been there.
"The Saturdays have had to work hard so she knows what the wannabes are going through.
"Just like Cheryl, she is young and glamorous and someone the contestants can relate to."
Frankie, 22 - who is dating football star Wayne Bridge - was in teen group S Club Juniors before joining The Saturdays so she already has a lot of showbiz experience.
Former Spice Girl Mel B is also in the running for the judging panel after holding talks with show chiefs yesterday.
Mel, 35, is desperate for the gig and dropped hints this week that she was in the frame by revealing she is quitting her home in the US.
Bosses are said to be "very interested", although they are thought to have considered her initially for the Australian version.
A source said: "She is certainly gobby which is what Simon Cowell loves."
Nobody has yet been confirmed for the judging panel for the new series, although Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue are expected to return.
Show boss Cowell, 51, is set to be a judge on the US version which is due to start in September.
