I'm fine: Charlie Sheen defended his hard-partying ways, telling a gossip website 'Guy can't have a great time and do his job also?'

He's just admitted himself to rehab, but Charlie Sheen certainly doesn't appear to be admitting he has a problem.

The Two-and-a-Half Men star has spoken out for the first time about the 36-hour bender which left himhospitalised, saying: 'I'm fine'.

In a text message sent to RadarOnline, Charlie defended his hard-partying ways.

'People don't seem to get it.... Guy can't have a great time and do his job also?' he wrote.

The star then signed off with a message to all of his critics, writing 'Bunch of turds.'

Around the same time, the 45-year-old actor checked himself into an undisclosed rehab facility.

Charlie's memo came as his spokesperson Stan Rosenfield issued a statement from the Hollywood star, declaring that Charlie 'has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation centre.'

He added: 'He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern,' and 'asks that his privacy be respected at this time.'

Yesterday it was announced that Charlie's top-rating CBS show, Two-and-a-Half Men, would be placed on immediate production hiatus to allow the actor to deal with his issues.

The sitcom was originally scheduled to resume shooting Tuesday.

CBS also issued a statement in support of their employee.

'We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision,' it said.

This came after CBS initially tried to skim over the subject.

Before Charlie checked himself into rehab yesterday Two-and-a-Half Men producer, Mark Burg claimed that Sheen was back at home and 'feeling great'.

He also added that the actor was expected to return to work on the show on Tuesday, which is now not expected to happen.

Sheen ended up in hospital on Thursday after partying with at least two adult film stars at his $20 million home.

One of the girls who partied with Sheen has since spoken out said he was 'wasted out of his mind'.

Kacey Jordan, 22, told TMZ she 'couldn't keep up' with the actor who was rushed to the emergency room in the early hours suffering 'severe abdominal pains.'

Jordan, who claims she was at the actor's Beverly Hills home, said their 36-hour party involved '$20,000 worth of drugs'.

She claims a drug dealer was called to the $8 million house late at night on Wednesday.

Sources say that despite his latest hospital visit, Sheen has no intention of changing his ways.

'He doesn't think he's going to die,' a friend of the star told People. 'He doesn't want to stop.

'In his eyes, he thinks, "I'm having fun, so what? I'm making $2 million a week, the show has the best ratings, I show up for up work. What's the problem?"

They added: 'He definitely did not OD but, yes, he was partying.'

More light has also been shed on the medical condition that caused Sheen to be rushed to LA's Cedar Sinai hospital on Thursday.

According to RadarOnline, one friend of Sheen's insisted he was hospitalized for a hernia, aggravated when he laughed too hard while watching television.

Others say Sheen was anaemic with an elevated white blood cell count and dehydrated.

This isn't the first time Sheen has defended his hard-partying actions.

After his notorious blow-out at New York's The Plaza hotel back in October last year, he also sent a text message to RadarOnline writing: 'Oh my man, I'm fine...The story is totally overblown and overplayed as far as the reality of the scenario.'

Sheen split from wife Brooke Mueller last year after he allegedly attached her at knifepoint on Christmas Day in 2009.

He was briefly hospitalised after the debauched night for 'psychological evaluation'.

The Two and a Half Men star was ordered to complete 30 days in rehab after he pleaded guilty to an assault charge in connection with the incident.

Since then, Sheen has been involved in a string of scandals, including an alleged alcohol-fuelled binge with porn star Capri Anderson at the Plaza Hotel in October last year, which left him in a New York hospital.

Sheen was understood to have hired a sobriety coach after the incident.

And earlier this month he apparently spent a weekend holed up in a Las Vegas hotel room with another porn actress, Bree Olson.

The pair reportedly spent the weekend in the upmarket Hugh Hefner Sky Villa inside the Fantasy Tower at the Palms Casino resort.
