The first series of Matt Lucas and David Walliams' BBC1 hit ended with 6.1million fans watching on Thursday.
It became the highest-rating new comedy launch for the past ten years after pulling in a staggering 12.4million viewers on its Christmas Day debut.
It sees Little Britain duo Matt, 36, and 39-year-old David play a host of characters including dozy ground staff worker Taaj, lazy coffee-shop keeper Precious and Flylo check-in girls Melody Baines and Keeley St Clair.
BBC comedy chief Mark Freeland said: "After such a flying start on BBC1, it's great news that Matt and David will once again be filling the check-in desks, departure lounges and cockpits with their wonderful and weird characters."
The new series is set to kick off later this year.
