Splash NewsA family friend said dejected Alex has now removed the £2,500 diamond-encrusted ring Jordan bought him on the eve of their Las Vegas wedding a year ago.
The pal added: "Although the divorce is pressing ahead Alex still wore his ring around the house and she never complained.
"She has been leading him on for several weeks now - that is why he hasn't left the house. She told him she needs him there as her bodyguard.
"But yet again she has jetted off around the world and discarded him like a used tissue.
"He understands that he needs to take off the ring to move on, which he has now done. He's in pieces about it."
Jordan, real name Katie Price, has banned Alex from having parties or girls round to her house in Woldingham, Surrey, while she is away.
She headed off to Sunday's Academy Awards in Los Angeles with constant companions Gary Cockerill and Phil Turner. Harvey, her eight-year-old son by footballer Dwight Yorke, went with her.
Younger son Junior, five, and daughter Princess, three, have gone on holiday with dad Peter Andre, Jordan's first husband.
Alex was last seen wearing his ring as he tried in vain to get into a party after last week's Brit Awards.
Three days later the ring appeared to be missing as Alex fought off a transvestite stalker in London's Soho.
Jordan last week ordered Alex from their home. But she is allowing him to remain there while she is in America.
