Chiles asked panellists to guess whether quotes were from the Bible or guest Bob Geldof, including: "Russell Brand - what a c****." Media regulator Ofcom received 16 complaints and ITV said it got "less than 20" calls.
The word was used at the end of the pre-recorded show at 10.30pm. Viewers were also upset at Jack Dee saying "motherf***er".
An Ofcom insider said as the words were said after 10pm a probe was unlikely.
