Kelly, who is set to show off her fitness levels playing lycra-clad fitness instructor Jemima in tomorrow's E4 edition of Skins, looked relaxed in her toned-down outfit.
The former Big Breakfast presenter, 31, wore a grey playsuit and checked shirt which she teamed with chunky boots when she stepped out in Los Angeles yesterday.
But she was at least carrying a designer handbag and kept her eyes shielded from the sun with some expensive-looking dark glasses.
Kelly, who appeared in horror flick Piranha 3D, moved to the States to boost her acting career and is renting a home there while she looks to bag some big Hollywood roles.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant admitted she had a warm reception when she joined the cast of Skins for her cameo appearance.
She said: "What was really charming was when I got to my hotel room, three of the cast were waiting for me."
Cast member Freya Mavor, who plays Mini McGuinness, said: "I felt so privileged to chill and gossip with her.
"We had chats about boys and talked about how silly and stupid they can be!"
