Brooke, who stars as Weatherfield's Sophie Webster, was linked with Scott Thomas - the younger brother of Ryan, who plays Jason Grimshaw's brother.
The furious 18-year-old complained she and Scott, whose twin brother Adam Thomas plays Adam Barton in Emmerdale, were just friends.
Puzzlingly it was Ryan himself who first stoked suggestions Brooke and Scott were an item, hinting that there was romance in the air on his Twitter page.
He even posted a link to a video showing Scott and Brooke looking cosy, saying: "Why can't @tweedypie_b (Brooke) & @scottyspecial (his brother, Scott) just admit there a couple.....watch scotts hand on brookes arm in this video (sic)."
But Brooke hit back at press reports that she was in a relationship.
She wrote: "I'm not going out with Scott Thomas - it's all just banter with Ryan! Wow."
The actress, who joined the ITV1 soap in 2004, added: "It makes me think what a wild thing this thing is we call Showbiz. Me, myself & the public eye."
Despite her denials, young Brooke was snapped holding no less than two boxes of heart shaped chocolates today - but there was no hint as to who the admirer may have been who sent the Valentine's gifts.
Brooke, whose character is in a lesbian relationship with Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson), looks set to continue the gay romance on-screen.
Speaking to gay and lesbian magazine G3 Sascha explained the Weatherfield lovebirds would be together for a while yet.
She said: "Everybody expected it not to last, and now that it has lasted this long, they've been pleasantly shocked."
She added: "It's not going to be a straightforward relationship - no relationship ever is - and they have their ups and down. It's a love story and that's what we tried for from the start, rather than just making it a phase."
