He underwent a life-saving liver transplant 16 years ago and vowed afterwards that he would never touch alcohol again.
But it would appear that Larry Hagman still can't resist the odd tipple as he was snapped guzzling a glass of red wine at lunch.
But even more shocking was then seeing the former Dallas star get into a golf buggy which he then drove home.
Drink driving: Larry Hagman drives an electric golf buggy home after drinking wine at lunch with his friend
The 79-year-old actor was pictured enjoying a large glass of red wine as he dined with a friend at the R+D Kitchen in Brentwood, California on Sunday.
The men sat chatting over their meal as Larry savoured his drink, sipping from it at first before knocking the last of it back.
The pair then left the restaurant and got into Larry's electric golf buggy, which the actor then drove home through the busy streets.
Hagman, who is best known for his role as oil baron JR Ewing in Dallas in the Eighties, had the transplant operation in 1995 after destroying his original organ over 30 years of heavy drinking.
But after the transplant, despite vowing to never touch a drop of alcohol again, he admitted that he began drinking again despite attending Alcoholics Anonymous.

In 2004, speaking to the website UltimateDallas.com, he said he kept it secret from the aid movement but them had to confess when the story came out.
He said: 'It wasn't difficult to do. People do it all the time. There was no criticism. They don't shoot the wounded at AA. It wasn't like I was going out getting drunk and crashing the car, beating my wife.'
But he also told the website that he would never be drinking again, and added: 'I don't need alcohol any longer and I don't crave it.
'It might start me again. I don't want to disgrace the AA movement by going back into that sort of behaviour.'
Hagman is due to return to his role as JR Ewing for a pilot of the updated version of the popular TV show.
